It’s a wonderful life
Everything is beautiful
All my Christmases have come true
The world is my oyster
Every cloud has a silver lining
It could be me
Happy days are here again
I believe in magic
Hope springs eternal
There’s sunshine after the rain
Everything’s coming up roses
I’ve hit a purple patch
There’s nothing gonna keep me down
I’m on higher ground
I believe I can fly
Oh ho ho it’s magic
All you need is love
People are people
Be the best that you can be
I’m positively good
Aint no stopping us now
Keep on keeping on
I can do it
Be all you can be
Heaven, I’m in Heaven
I’m getting better and better

I sing my September song
I sing my September song
To remind me of the glory days
The times when the world was beautiful
And people basked in the sun rays
I sing my October song
As the bights draw in
And it feels colder
As winter begins
I sing my November song
As the gales soak the land
And the planned adventures
Don’t go as planned
I sing my December song
With Christmas cheer
As we make preparations
for the new year
I sing my January song
As the snow falls
And frosty winds
Lead to winter squalls
I sing my February song
As Valentine brings thoughts of love
And cards are written
With blessing from above
I sing my March song
As Easter celebrations
Ring through my ears. And loose
Myself in meditation
I sing my April song
As I walk in showers
With my loved one
And smell the flowers
I sing my May song
As warmer days
Bring out the barbecue
And children play
I sing my June song
As the solstice foretells
The end of the summer
And Autumn wells
I sing my July song
As holidays are taken
Then we plan for next year
In expectation
I sing my August song
At Harvest time
When we work in the fields
And the future is Thine.

I hold you in contempt, Sir
I hold you in contempt, Sir
You are a blethering infestation
Of pungent distaste
A deluded politician
You claim to be an egotist
Yet you frequented that slime
Of a putrid sewer called Parliament
Where vagrants waste their time
Devising conspiracies and
Degenerating arguments instead
Of high and free thought,
Which is beyond the tenets
Of the interlocutors imaginings.
How con you ruin a country
In this manner? When
The population curtly
Rejected what you imagined
That you stood for
You are a blethering infestation
Of pungent distaste
A deluded politician
You claim to be an egotist

Why do some people like to fight?
Why do some people like to fight?
Do they get a sense of power?
Are they just showing of to their friends?
Or are they just cowards?
Bullies who like to dominate
And scare people with their strength
Their muscle power their machismo
Why go to such length?

It’s not always the case that favourites
It’s not always the case that favourites
Come in when you expect them to.
In fact the opposite is often the outcome
No matter how much you pray or woo.
Do we really expect that the Devine
Will help us win a bet?
I’ll wager that Jesus didn’t frequent
A bookies, and he’ll not do it, yet
Punters offer up prayers for minor victories
hoping against hope for that elusive win
When they really should be begging
For forgiveness for sin

Pink
Pink doesn’t suit you
I prefer the purple
You can never substitute
One for the other
When it comes to colour
Discretion always wins
over exuberant hues
Are cardinal sins
A vision in blue
Green, yellow or red
Makes all the difference
No matter what’s said
Even then no matter the palette
The combination confirms
That colour is magic
And brightens up any day or night.

Statistically it should have happened by now
Statistically it should have happened by now,
But since there may have been an issue
With the research used on this occasion
The possibilities are endless. A misuse
Of figurative anal-isis, and here we are
Up that creek with nothing to steer
And noting to guide or progress us
In any meaningful way, I fear
That the future no longer is bright,
Rosy or clear, but instead the darkness
And unforgiving gloom that envelops
The news media harkens
A period of depression and despondency
That could only light up a soap opera
Or contribute to the repertoire of a blues singer
In a way that a love song becomes a cropper
When sung without feeling or expression
Or in the heartache of a breakup
When concerns of loneliness and
Illusions of a make up
Inveigle themselves in our minds
And drill into our thoughts and dreams
Dismantling all hope and foretelling
The end of all the streams
Of promised lands and manna
That keep us sane and human
And contribute to the society
That we frequent and live in.
No matter the cost that we afford
No matter the time that spend
Because when you add it all up
Statistically, this is the end.

thoughts on the morning meal?
In the search for a daily diet
Of processed paraphernalia
I came across a shepherd
Whose observations on regalia
Helped clarify the inner demons
That prefer to pontificate
And postulate thoughts and ideas
That we fail to elucidate
On the meaning of life
And deflect us from normality
And all forms of strife
Which, causing calamity
Irradiates the nourishment
That good wholesome repasts
Provide for the body
In breaking the fast.

Summer's end
When the summer ends
And days get shorter
The cold air begins to creep in.
Harvest time is in full flow. ‘
Its time to reflect on the past
As we reap what has been sown.
A word misplaced, not understood
An act of frustration
Intentions not realised
Resulting in contrition
As blame and counter blame
Give birth to resolution
We can but hope
The cooler air
Leads not to retribution
The winter coat is now unpacked
And readied for the solstice.
A passing of the old is due
Before we concentrate on the new
With festivities to celebrate
The first noel to come
Hope can resurrect itself
To light the current gloom
And as we look ahead to spring
A new start and beginning
The snowdrops come around again
To pacify our yearning.
And days get shorter
The cold air begins to creep in.
Harvest time is in full flow. ‘

I can’t eat the digestives
I can’t eat the digestives,
They give me heartburn
Rich tea are too plain
Without a butter topping
It’s not something that I can explain
I hate the hassle of convenience food
Quick meals take too long
My krispies go all soggy
When I pour the milk on
They give me heartburn
Rich tea are too plain
Without a butter topping

How to tackle the national debt
How to tackle the national debt
we need a plan
we won't regret,
what can we cut
that wont cause pain
we have to ensure
were elected again.
Education, police or services public
don’t stifle recovery
its just not worth it
increase taxes, that’s a winner
if we tighten our belts
we'll all get thinner
if tax the ash that’s in the air,
it affects everyone
that seems fair
what about introducing a flat tax rate
I live in hose
so that sounds great
I have a plan
we'll be in clover
the Euromillions
if its a rollover
so if we all cross our fingers
and write down our goals
it will be alright
no that’s not working
we need a plan
we won't regret,
what can we cut
that wont cause pain
we have to ensure
were elected again.

Sophie
Sophie, Sophie, why do you treat me so?
You know how I feel
You know that it’s real
But still you go
Sophie, I don’t understand
When I held your hand
I felt this was true
I had feelings for you
The love that we share
Has turned to despair
Why throw away all that we’ve done?
Come on, we used to have fun
We used to enjoy our time together
We used to walk in all sorts of weather
We’d hug in the rain
Now there’s only pain
You’ve broken my heart
Yes, you played a part
You squandered my love.
When push came to shove
You threw it away
When you called it a day
You left me alone
Please let me atone
Sophie, Sophie, why do you treat me so?
You know how I feel
You know that it’s real
But still you go
You know how I feel

The digital revolution
VCR, beta max, Digital revolution
HDMI, blue ray, mega confusion
DVD, watch and see
Listen to your MP3
Nothing to watch on satellite TV
900 channels are insufficient for me
I remember when TV closed down
We got the test card and a girl with a frown
Now kids are easily unamused
They get so much that is not used
Games that only last them hours
They must have mighty techno powers
Are you on facebook, you have to be
To keep in touch with the likes of me
You cannot afford to be left behind
In the digital future, so I’ll remind
You to do it online, without the human touch
No interaction no cuddle or clutch
Just living in a world of gloom
Watching the same programme in a different room
HDMI, blue ray, mega confusion
DVD, watch and see

100 days good or bad
The first 100 days of the ConDem nation.
How should we judge the administration?
Is everything now fine and dandy?
Or is the Country in calamity?
What have they done to save the day?
Increased tax and cut our pay.
Targeted the ill and unemployed
Whilst banker’s bonuses are still enjoyed.
Electoral promises now discarded,
Pragmatic decisions now regarded
As solutions to the coming storm
No matter that they cause us harm
Promises on Trident deferred
Money wasted on the war
They rather fight the Taliban
Than support the victims in Pakistan.
No new thoughts on the drug problem
Maybe we should just abandon them
Nothing on youth employment or job creation
Nothing to avoid the desolation
Cut the public sector asunder
A policy of rape and plunder
Cast the service workers adrift
And wonder why they’re slightly miffed
If its like this after 100 days
What’s the prospect for the coming years?
More misery laced with doom and gloom
The people treated like mushrooms

Scots law
Contemporaneous diets and jurisprudence
Summary proceedings and ordinary cause
Solicitor-Advocates to present the case
Assoilzied defenders to be re-raised
Sheriff and High are the courts mainly used
But the Court of Session is not Supreme
For that you need Lords in the House
But that’s rare and extreme.
This verse doesn't have any meaning, but I was at a course about thr Scottish legal system and there were some fantastic words that I had use. If you don't understand all the words or meanings, there are some great dictionaries on google.
Have fun

All that we do
In all that we think
In all that we do
The way we act
Represents you
Our thoughts and dreams
and expectations too
What’s in our heads
Represents you
Our bodies, our wealth
Our fitness and health
The houses we live in
Are the definition
Of a life lived true
All of which
Represent you
In all that we do

changes
I’ve stormed my brain
Thought of blue skies
Left my box, and helicoptered
With the guys
I’ve thought laterally, literally
But now I am stuck
Brain dead, exhausted
And ready to chuck
This new fangled language
Into the bin.
How can a fogey,
Know what is in?
I’ll do my best
I’ll give it my all
But as for texting
I’m lost. lol

How can this be fair?
Once more the wolves are free,
To castigate the people who care
About the way they live and work,
How can this be fair?
They bring in consultants
With no expertise in the area
That they have to cut
How can this be fair?
What does a tycoon know
About teaching children
With learning difficulties?
How can this be fair?
Let’s recommend some savings
Where do we get them?
Out of thin air?

There’s a constitutional crisis
There’s a constitutional crisis in the state of Kathmandu
With implications for the governance of the likes of me and you
How those in authority percolate their policies down
Affects the living standards in villages and town
Here in Britain we are blessed
With government that when pressed
Will answer all our questions in an open and honest manner
Even though the opposition tries to insert a spanner
There’s a gentlemen’s agreement a proven protocol
Of how to do business that is followed by all
Who enter the House with humility and pride
To become cannon fodder and through principle aside
Where is the rebellious loner who sticks to their path,
When all around toe the line, to avoid electoral death?
Castigated and castrated to the back bench they are sent
Left in the cold until one day they are forced to repent
For sticking to the promises they were elected on
For upholding the manifesto, the beliefs that they belong
The tenets that they hold dear, the way they live their lives
Let’s pray for them, and hope that they avoid the knife
And as we reflect on what politicians do
And analyse this apparent human zoo
We must ask if our democracy has passed the test
And consider if the current model is best
Now times are hard and we’ve cut to the bone
In a society when we are all alone
Where politicians consider removing milk
From young children and their ilk
Is there a better way to run our land,
When nothing goes as planned?
When everything is set askew
Perhaps its time, for something new.

Time?
As the cosmos finally comes to an end
We wonder what lies ahead
What will come next
What the future if any will shed
Light on our passing thoughts
And images of doom laden pictographs
That lead to revelations
And incantations
Of previously heard epitaphs
Is it in man’s understanding?
Can we grasp the implications
Of the ramifications
Of our current life choices
Is there time to change our history
Can we rest asunder
If we change the things we do
And reverse the environmental blunder
That has lead us to destruction
To the end of civilisation?
Or will we follow the dinosaur
Into oblivion
Shall the insects inherit the Earth
Will the moths reflect on the passing of our light
As we descend into endless night?
Whist we concentrate on trivia
People die in far off lands
While we argue over football
The devil makes his plans
We extinguished the light
At the end of our tunnel
We pollute like a dirty old funnel
What chance have we got
When ignorance is the new intelligence
Where we are fed processed concoctions
Where dead animals are our succulence
The circle goes on
Round and around
If we don’t square it
Then suffering will abound
So who has the answer?
Politicians, Priests, God?
How will we know
if the questions we ask
Are wrapped in our present,
Which comes from the past
The answer is to think
Of the things we have done
Will there be a future?
Have we had a good run?
Should we trust nature
To pull us through?
Can you trust me?
Can I rely on you?
Is it better to love
Than not at all
Is it better to kill
To keep our minds small
Lets build a deterrent
That we’ll never use
We can break up those ploughshares
They are never used
Lets all live life like there’s no tomorrow
And forget the fate that struck Gomorrah
If we only have words
Then what is the use
If we don’t understand
That the cannons are loose
Should we praise God
And offer up hope?
If we promise to be good
Will he throw us a rope?
Should we pray
Or meditate?
Will it give us the answer
Before its too late?
It’s the best we can wish for
It’s now time to Act
Like the apostles
We have to face facts
We have to communicate
With our fellow man
If we don’t know tongues
We must say what we can
A fellowship is now our last hope
Working together to save the Earth
A fresh understanding of the brotherhood of (wo)man
At last acting on the virgin birth.
We wonder what lies ahead

Cycles
I went to the bike shop
And asked for a Kondratiev cycle
He told be to come back in about fifty years
But if I wanted a Menstrual I could get one in four weeks

Hoe could you?
How would you?
How should you?

Amusing musings keep me happy
They keep me occupied
They’re better than talking
As that leaves me tongue tied
They keep me occupied
They’re better than talking
As that leaves me tongue tied

As I went on a day trip to Carnoustie
As I went on a day trip to Carnoustie
I found that sandwiches had gone foosty
What could I do
There was nothing to eat
Except mouldy bread
And discoloured meat
I thought that if I could find a baker
I’d get a pie, a milk shake or
Perhaps a sausage roll
But that would take its toll
On my delicate tummy
I should have relied on mummy
No more will I venture without
A lunch pre-packed by mother dearest
She does it with endless love
For her next and nearest

favourite flower
As Tony said, the other day
Geraniums are the best to use
But I was not convinced
Though I had nothing to lose
Perhaps it would be indiscreet
When selecting a bouquet
To listen to someone who thinks
The weekend starts today
But if you must take some good advice
You should consult a florist
Not someone who thinks that flowers
Are what grows in a forest

Billionaires
What males a billionaire you ask
Well obviously, lots of money
Should they give it to charity?
Or squander on milk and honey?
Why do so many denigrate
And pervert their reason for giving?
Is it petty jealousy
Or dissatisfaction with the way they’re living?
It must be a tax scam
That these greedy Bs
Will use to exploit the poor
Who knows what’s in their train of thought?
Can we be really sure?
Perhaps they’ve found God
And have realised that we are all the same,
One person underneath our skin
How can we then complain?
When we help our brother man
We really help our self
We are but one consciousness
But not the same belief
Did Jesus build and keep such sums
Or did he preach generosity,
Charity, help your fellow man
Should we despise these men
For giving wealth away
Just because they can?

Sorry
Why me?
What did I do
That caused things to turn out this way?
I never meant that to happen
I never meant to betray
The trust that I thought
Had built up between us
Is there any back
Out of this mess?
Is it over?
Can we recover?
Is it all too late?
Has love turned to hate?
Perhaps we can try
C’mon love, don’t cry
Let’s start again
A new beginning
I am sorry
For all my sinning
I’ll be a good boy
Do you think I would lie?
What did I do
That caused things to turn out this way?

I never meant to betray

a night in
Krakatoa blew my mind
i saw it in a film
I wondered if it really happened
or was it just a dream
sometimes I watch things on TV
and really get involved
other times they just pass me by
and leave me underwhelmed
tonight I'm watching football
the game is by its best
I hope there's a film on later on
or else I'll be depressed.

food blog 2
Where does our food come from?
Milk from a man made cow
Vegetables that cannot rot
Bacon from a force fed sow
There’s a lot going on
That we don’t know
That affects the food
That farmers grow
Science will save us
Say the alterers
A small change here
A nip or a tuck
We’ll change the genes
Its all small beer.
Will it cause cancer in our kids?
Is I worse that drink or drugs
Will kill as many as smoking
Or just get rid of bugs
Can we trust the scientists?
To tell the truth about GM
Or will they all just band together
And leave it to religion
To point out the dilemma
That we face
In making a decision
That might kill or feed our race
In the end we’re all dead
So does it really matter
If we speed up our journey
To go a meet our maker.
The last 2 poems were a respose to a story that milk from a cloned cow had entered the UK food chain

Today we have more food intolerance,
Obesity, high blood pressure, allergies
Eczema, cancers, IBS
Over used joints and diabetes.
It it caused by the things we eat?
Is our diet far too sweet?
Do we need additives to give us a treat?
Processed food has become a curse
Modification only makes it worse
Legal poison pushed in supermarkets
Sugar, salt, refined white flour
How many do they kill each hour?
We make a fuss of smoke and drink
But peddle obesity
To people who don’t think
Of the harm that’s done
Eating a British diet
High in fat
And saturates
Blame fast food
And watch the telly
Blame GM
For your fat belly
Drink some lager
Have a ball
The sugar turns
to alcohol
So is GM milk
Such an evil
When we’re already
Possessed by the devil?

A verse about football
The leftfield rendezvous meant nought
As Razors took his place
On the terrace he scanned the scene
The place was a disgrace
Unkempt was the best if less
Generous description
That you could give this place
This fabulous dereliction
The scent of human misery
The look of desolation
That fans have before the start
Of the forthcoming humiliation
Its great to be a football fan
There has to be reason
That we follow the cycle again
Season after season
As Razors took his place
On the terrace he scanned the scene

Lucy lunches
Lucy lunches with the best
That Scotland has to offer
Whatever with chips, she can have
For her and her daughter
Something savoury perhaps
Or maybe something sweet
A tasty soup with vegetables
Or potatoes served with meat
A pie or sausage fits the bill
Fresh meat minced up with spice
Served with a helping of love
So tempting and so nice
That Scotland has to offer

A Prayer
Energy, I have some
Thank you God
Health,it is good
Thank you God
Time to reflect
on this day
and every day that has passed
for good people everywhere
who would give their last
For people who are suffering
for that provide aid
for anyone with a kind heart
who doesn't have to be paid
For people who care for others
for mothers and for dads
for brothers and for sisters
for that they call lads
for people with hopes and dreams
for those that need our help
for all people everywhere
Thank you God
Thank you God

What would encourage sensible drinking?
What is sensible drinking?
So many units a week
Is what their thinking
But not everyone is the same
So the limits change
Or so they claim
Do we increase the price so it costs more?
Do higher costs
Even the score?
Is it our culture that’s to blame?
If we were French
Would it be the same?
Why do we have a celebratory drink?
A bottle of wine for Christmas, Think
Does the way we drink cause the confusion?
Would cutting back be a solution?
Why do people drink to destruction?
Why get blitzed and cause a ruction?
I don’t have a clue about the answer
But if some does,
Be sure to thank her.

Transparency
As the mist of Westminster clear away
We find out what they earn in pay.
Does this improve Government
When all the money has been spent?
Can we trust this new found creed
When everything is based on greed?
Are politicians open and honest,
Do they really do their best?
Is this change, or all just spin
Is this why we voted them in?
Will these questions now be answered
or has the truth been cruelly ransomed?
Will there now be clarity and precision?
Or hidden in political decision?
Does this mean we trust the coalition?
Or does this end with contradiction.
Time will tell, if we allow it
Is openness to their credit
I wish they’d told us before the election,
The cost they’ll cause now they got in.
Why couldn’t they have revealed the agenda
Before they started the propaganda
Transparency now let’s be clear
Is going to cost all of us dear.

Poetry is
There is a way of building wealth
That most people don’t follow
It doesn’t leave a bad taste
And its easy to swallow
But not everyone has the ability
Or the opportunity
To what has to be done
To get through to me
If they have the talent
Or the inclination
They can write words that rhyme
and titivate the nation
it doesn’t have to be hard
or overly complicated
just make the words sing
and you’ll be highly rated
if you make people happy
and satisfy their needs
you’ll be always in demand
and be the one who leads
but remember to be humble
and thank God for your gift
for not everyone’s so fortunate
to have such imagination
and though it makes you feel great
to rhyme to the nation
to have tune that you can hear
is quite a revelation
but in the end
you have to share
with readers and with listeners
it’s the only way to comprehend
your brothers or your sisters
so lets give thanks
for all we have
for wonder and for beauty
for summer days and winter nights
for sour sweet and fruity
for everyone that we have met
for all creeds and colours
for babies, boys and girls
for fathers and mothers
for dogs and cats
pigs, elephants and horses
for birds that fly up in the sky
for wisdom and discourses
Thanks

big bro
There is a show I do not watch
That’s always on TV
It’s called Big Brother
But even though it’s popular
It doesn’t appeal to me
it takes a variety of miscreants
and throws them all together
but all they do is bitch or moan
or sit around and blether

Bank Levy
The banking business is all to pot
Politicians talk tommy rot
A levy is the new idea
Sounds like another tax to me
Do you think they’ll raise charges to compensate
You bet they’ll tamper with the rate
They’ll moan about talent that will be lost
And will end up paying the cost
But how do we bring this dog to heel
Whilst keeping the economy on an even keel
We need joint action that all can agree
That helps restore the economy
If this meets the needs of all citizens
If it means just as much to the cocks and the hens
Then we can look forward to being well off
If not then they’re just having a laugh.

Oil
Oil need to consider this to be sure
that our need for the stuff
is clean and pure
otherwise it would be rude
to use a resource that was crude
is there another way to power a car
that lets me travel near and far
in the comfort I desire
without the need for frequent flier
incentives or air miles
that gets me there whilst I’m all smiles

modern times
Jumped up syndicates exploiting effervescent ridicularities,
Are having an effect on the psyche of the population
This along with modern technological breakthroughs
Are making this a lonelier nation
In older times things were more subtle
Progress meandered rather than ran
Men and women communicated easier
It was not maybe but can.

Free education?
Is free education what we want?
Is state control a bad thing?
Is it just another diversion?
To stop people from thinking?
All we get are populist,
Initiatives and ideas
Where’s the beef? you may well ask
Are they going to free us
From drudgery or despair
Or doom and gloom
And bad news
Do they really care?
Or should we just watch football
Instead of getting tetchy
At what the Liberals are up to now?
Bring back the SDP
Is this a turning point
In the education microcosm
Will it only affect a few
Who can afford to drop them
From local government jurisdiction
And hope to run them efficiently
With no restriction
But it wont be as easy as they think
Opting out’s no picnic
Cherry picking the best schools
And leaving the sick
To fend for themselves
In dire straits
Without sufficient money
To do the things they need to do
To educate the many.
This was a response to a report that schools might opt out of the education system, published on the BBC

Insurance
Insurance costs a lot, to be sure
But if you’re not covered
You’re exposed to the risk
Of losing it all
What a disaster
It’s something you need
But don’t really want,
Paying for something
You don’t want to use
Unless there is trouble
Is there an alternative?
A cheaper solution
You could pay for everything
That happened to you
If you can afford it.
So basic insurance
Is all that we need
If it is compulsory
Then what can we do?

Immigration
What would Jesus say
When fellow man is turned away?
Where is the compassion
When citizenship is rationed?
If you have different skin
Will you be let in?
Are you them or us
Will you cause a fuss?
What good will you do
Or should you be in a zoo?
We’re all the same species
The same animal
Even if you are different
You can still be my pal
Is speaking the language
Just discrimination?
Where did we come from
To form this great nation
Irish, Celts, Saxons, Normans
Danes, Gauls or Germans?
Africans, Jews, Pakistanis
Mexicans, Asians or Afghanis?
They all bring something to our table
So let’s welcome them in while we are able.
What would Jesus say?
Welcome brother, come and stay.

Health and safety
Health and safety, you cannot argue
Does us good and prevents accidents
But the litigation culture makes a mockery
Of rules made to prevent
The mishaps and disasters that people suffer
from. Is it the lawyer’s doing
That we now look to sue
Or is their trouble brewing
From this predicament?
Who can provide the answer
For the way we have become
Do we sue and transfer
The blame on everyone?

The Government has lost the plot
We’ll need more drugs to get us by
We can’t object if we’re all high
Consult the people on the cuts
But what if they reject them all
What can we do if we cannot

The chant rang round the nation
Give our children what we didn’t have
That way we know they wont starve
An Academy then if it is to be
Maybe for you but not for me
They teach the three Rs to affluent kids
But leave the masses on the skids
But maybe they’ll turn out as Tory Mps
And go to the to with the greatest of ease
But can we afford this experiment
Even though the thought is well meant
When its cuts today and every day
They’ll implement them come what may
But this could turn out as a veritable Hell
Creating poets who actually spell

Volunteer for Mars?
Would I volunteer for Mars?
18 months out in space
With 5 companions
To share the place.
I’m not convinced
The experiment
Will provide
The data they meant.
Is it one way or return,
Will it be shut when I arrive
Will I get on with my companions
Will I still be alive?
What’s to be gained by going to Mars
Do little green men drive around in cars?
A planet we can see from here,
Its obviously got no atmosphere.
Is this science fiction or science fact,
will we discover something amazing,
some new technology to take us forward
or an extra terrestrial liaison?
Perhaps there minerals that we need,
Or we could take holidays by the red sea,
But only the rich will be able to go
Its too expensive for you or me.
Stuck in a tube for over a year,
With 5 sweaty men and no bath in sight
Living on microwave meals watching telly
It sounds just like a skiver’s delight
But I’m sure it’s all done for science
And people will learn of the ordeals they faced
Unless spending cuts force it to close,
All that time lost they’ll never replace.

So is Mars just pie in the sky?
You’ll never know if you don’t try.
This was a response to a BBC discussion on a Russian experiment
Flat bodkins
Flat bodkins
Jerusalem artichokes
Black mambas
Chip pokes
High commissioners
Junkie punks
Deadly spiders
Worthless drunks
Cupid’s sparrow
Wet flight path
True love?
You’re having a laugh
Naughty felines
Cat’s got your tongue
It’s a dog’s life
Living on the run
Concrete pillows
Shoes that don’t fit
Obscure images
Candles not lit
Empty fulfilment
A quest for no thing
A final beginning
A solid ring

Well here goes
I have decided to start a blog
it will be based on poetry
a lot of the poems I write
are responses to current affairs
on other websites e.g, BBC have our say
and occasionally to other sites
mainly looking for feedback
or opinion
so where i do this
i will try and list where i posted it
This is all new, so apologies for any mistakes
that regular bloggers will spot
I hope that you enjoy it
